Lecture notes	A.A. Professor (can be listed before or in citation) (personal communication, Month Day, Year of lecture.) Note: your own lecture notes are considered personal communications in APA style. Cite them within the text of your assignment but not on the reference list. Published lecture notes follow the same format as online presentation slides.	"Most anemias during pregnancy are caused from an increased need for iron as your body needs more blood to help the baby grow" (S.A. Johnston, personal communications, October 9, 2024.) S.A. Note: always check with your professor about citing in-class materials to learn their if referencing in-class material is acceptable.

General Rules

How to format in-text citations in your document.
Use the author-date citation system for direct quotes: (Author Surname, Publication Year)
When citing a reference by two authors use an ampersand between their last names: (Last name & Last Name, Publication Year)
No authors, organization, or editors listed? Contact library@saskhealthauthority.ca to ask a librarian.
When citing a reference by three or more authors use the first authors names followed by et. al.,: (Last name et. al., Publication Year)
When quoting a passage or referencing a specific page include the page numbers after the citation number: (Last Name, Publication Year, p. page number) (Last Name, Publication Year, para. paragraph number) (Last Name, Publication Year, table number)
