- The new reference will be added to your collection.
Create a new reference from scratch
- Click the New Item button in the toolbar (looks like a green plus sign).
- Select the type/format of reference you want to add.
- A new, blank reference will be created.
- Edit/enter the bibliographic details as indicated in the sidebar (e.g. title, authors, dates, etc.).
- Changes will be saved automatically.
Using the Zotero Connector browser extension
- Contact the eHealth Saskatchewan Service Desk or your local IT department for installation.
- Download and install the Zotero Connector extension (for Edge, Firefox, Chrome or Safari).
- As you browse, the Zotero Connector will automatically find bibliographic information on webpages you visit and allow you to add it to Zotero with a single click.
- Find the Zotero icon in your browser window and click to save viewed books, journal articles, or lists of references from a database such as PubMed or Ovid MEDLINE.
- If you click the Zotero Connector while viewing PDFs, the PDF will be added to your library and Zotero will attempt to automatically generate the bibliographic information.
- In some cases, you may need to manually verify or enter the reference details. See the next section on how to manually add references.
See Adding Items to Zotero [Official Documentation] for additional detailed instructions.
